Ziyech rejects Wydad's new offer

Hakim Ziyech's future at Wydad AC remains up in the air. Talks between the two parties are still going on without any final agreement over whether the Morocco international stays or leaves in the coming period.

Wydad's board, meanwhile, are trying to reorganise their financial commitments. They want a new arrangement that keeps the player at the club while easing the pressure tied to his monthly salary.

According to the Moroccan website Hesport, citing sources close to the club, the proposal on the table does not necessarily cut the total value of Ziyech's dues. Instead it changes the way they are paid.

Under the proposed formula, his monthly salary would drop in exchange for a signing bonus paid in instalments.

Ziyech has not agreed. He prefers to keep the financial terms currently in place, which has left the negotiations open and pushed back any final decision.

An uncertain future

Wydad's board are trying to strike a balance between the supporters, who want Ziyech kept, and their own need for a more flexible financial approach. The player, for his part, is holding firm on his position and his conditions.

So Ziyech's future at Wydad hangs on the next rounds of talks. Either both sides land on a compromise, or an official announcement settles one of the club's biggest issues of the current period.
