Ange Postecoglou has matched his Portuguese predecessor Jorge Jesus at Al-Nassr, with the Australian coach steering the club to an emphatic win over Al-Riyadh.
Al-Nassr thrashed their hosts 4-0 today, Friday, at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in the Saudi capital, in the second round of the Roshn League.
That made it two wins from two to start the current campaign, after they saw off Al-Fateh with a clean-sheet hat-trick in the opening round.
According to the "Opta" statistics network, it was the seventh time in history that Al-Nassr have opened a Saudi Roshn League season with victory in their first two matches.
"Al-Alami" have now pulled off the feat in back-to-back campaigns, having managed it last season under Jorge Jesus.
It marks the first time in roughly seven years that Al-Nassr have won their opening two matches in two consecutive seasons, a run they last enjoyed across 2018-2019 and 2019-2020.
Seven goals have flowed in those first two Roshn League fixtures without reply, and there were four more in the 4-1 win over Al-Diriyah in the round of 32 of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup.
