Ulinzi Stars defender, George Omondi has revealed the secret behind his successful debut in the Kenyan Premier League last weekend.
Omondi, who joined Ulinzis Stars from Liberty Academy in January, played a full 90 minutes of the opening game of the season in the Soldiers' beat Zoo FC 4-2 on Saturday at Afraha Stadium.
The youthful defender, who was signed from the Nationwide league, was left with good memories of the top flight after he showed great composure moments after he walked straight into Ulinzi’s starting lineup.
Omondi revealed the pep-talks with the head coach, Dunstan Nyaudo that prepared him for the big day in first taste of the KPL.
“He (Nyaudo) talked to me personally ahead of the game. He told me the areas I needed to polish up. So going onto the pitch, I knew I had his backing as well as the support of my teammates. That made it a bit easier,” he told the club website.
