The Ligue 1 champions have called a media blackout prior to the top-of-the-table match in the wake of negative coverage following the club's recent struggles

Paris Saint-Germain have decided to stage a media blackout ahead of their crunch Ligue 1 clash against Nice on Sunday.

Liverpool slowly losing their grip and fear factor

The reigning champions head into the game at Parc des Princes under pressure following a recent run of bad results both domestically and in the Champions League.

PSG conceded further ground in the race for the Ligue 1 title by losing 3-0 to Montpellier last Saturday, before missing out on top spot in their Champions League group to Arsenal following a 2-2 draw with Ludogorets on Tuesday.

And the club have responded to negative coverage surrounding the team's difficult spell on the pitch by boycotting the press.

Why Mkhityaran is now irreplaceable for Man Utd

It is rumoured that the PSG players have called for the boycott and the club's hierarchy have decided to go through with it.

However, it is also understood that manager Unai Emery will face the media after the game.

Emery is under scrutiny as a result of PSG's worrying form and a defeat against Nice would only turn up the heat on his position.

The Parisiens are currently third and four points adrift of second-placed Nice, who can move above leaders Monaco if they avoid defeat against Emery's charges.
