"We'll see how (it turns out). We are already very good in the 3-4-3 system, maybe I'll introduce another system and make them understand it.
"We have Amri (Yahyah) and Andik (Vermansah) who can play in the wide areas, so we have the option if we want to play another system," he explained.
When enquired by Goal regarding the particular formations he had in mind, he responded: "Maybe 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2."
Upon Maniam's appointment as the Selangor head coach in the pre-season, he got the Red Giants to change into a 3-4-3 formation from the traditional 4-4-2, with his two wingers assisting in attack and defence.
He holds a AFC Professional Coaching Diploma, the highest coaching certification offered by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
And when asked about his focus during the break, he answered that he will continue working on recent returnees Amri and Andik, who rejoined the squad last week.
"Amri and Andik's return will definitely help the squad, but we still need to do a lot of work with these (two) players," he replied.
The league will take a one-month break for the Ramadan fasting month and Aidilfitri celebration, with round 14 only taking place on July 1.
