The Croatia international is reported to have emerged as top transfer priority for Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils manager took the opportunity during the international break to cast an eye over the winger during a 2018 World Cup qualifier against Ukraine.
Mourinho has attempted to play down any suggestion that his trip was a scouting mission ahead of the summer, but speculation regarding big-money bids refuses to go away.
Lovren, though, has now waded into the debate regarding Perisic’s future by attempting to talk up the benefits of joining the ranks at Anfield were life in Serie A to be traded for that in the Premier League.
He told Jutarnji List on his international team-mate: “A player like Perisic moving to Liverpool would be great. He is a top quality player.
“At Liverpool, all the players would welcome him with open arms.
“Obviously I do not know if it is true [the rumours]. What I can say is that he has exceptional football skills, knowledge and a higher than average quality.”
Goal understands that Perisic would cost any summer suitor around €40 million, with his reputation and value continuing to rise.
The 28-year-old has netted nine times in 33 appearances this season.
