Tottenham Hotspur's Wanyama thanks fans for SOMA Award

Kenya international, Victor Wanyama has expressed appreciation to his fans for helping him win the 2017 OLXKenya Social Media Award.

The Harambee Stars’ captain beat the likes of 800 metres World record holder David Rudisha, Kenya Sevens rugby player Biko Adema, Olympic marathon gold medalist, Eliud Kipchoge and national volleyball team captain Jane Wacu to claim the 2017 edition of the awards in June.

Wanyama was named the winner of the award due to his role in using social media to transform lives according to the organisers.

Wanyama joined Tottenham Hotspur from Southampton on a five year deal in 2016.
