EXTRA TIME: Watch the fans cheer Tanzania beating South Africa

Instead, here's a great video from the stands as the fans are cheering on the visitors, Tanzania. Though, this is not the time to mock South Africa.

South Africa understandably fielded their C team against Tanzania, with coach Stuart Baxter looking to broaden the scope on the country's fringe players.

We are not sure if 'fringe' is the right word here, because you could use that word for players who are normally substitutes or in the Bafana Bafana squad and on the stands.

However these players are not even getting a looking in from there. Some critics, such as former SA captain Aaron Mokoena, told the media that Baxter should've selected the SA U17 team.

Well, that would've only made it even more difficult for South Africa. The pundits and followers need to realise that these games are like training games and they're for blooding players who could break into the Bafana Bafana squad in the next year or two.

It's not for regulars and it's not for players who are five years away from the first team either. If you want to give inexperienced players a chance then you can't complain about the results.

Here's how SA's defeat was seen on Twitter... and for those followers who still have an interest in the Cosafa Cup, we're also giving you an update with Zimbabwe and Swaziland.

After all, this competition was always about strengthening the depth of teams in Southern Africa. We gave Tanzania a unique welcome... and they've certainly taken advantage of the welcome this weekend.
