Enugu Rangers suspend Onyedika Ogbuke indefinitely

Enugu Rangers have slammed an indefinite suspension on Onyedika Ogbuke for gross misconduct with the Nigeria Professional Football League side.

Ogbuke had rejoined the Flying Antelopes, his boyhood at the start of the 2017/2018 season after brief stints with clubs in Europe and Asia to revive his fading form.

In a statement, club’s team manager Amobi Ezeaku explained that the decision to sanction the former Nigeria U23 midfielder was due to averting future occurrence of such act of indiscipline.

“After going through the actions and inactions of player, Onyedika Ogbuke, the management decided to place an indefinite suspension on him to serve as a deterrent,” Ezeaku said.

Prior to his suspension, the former Apollon Limassol man played no part in the Flying Antelopes 3-0 Round of 32 win over Nigeria National League side Kebbi United in Abuja on Sunday.

With the development, the 32-year-old will miss the remainder of the seven-time Nigerian league kings’ campaign in the ongoing Federation Cup.
