Black Stars want to appease Ghanaians with bronze

Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu says they are focused on winning bronze to make up for their disappointment at the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

The Black Stars are set to face Burkina Faso in Port-Gentil on Saturday, three days after a 2-0 defeat to Cameroon in the semi-finals.

The Stallions, meanwhile, lost to Egypt on penalties in the other last four fixture.

“We were disappointed after losing to Cameroon," Badu told Ghana Fans.

"Although we were eager to win the title for the nation it could not materialize.

“So we have put the lost behind us and we are concentrating on the third place game against Burkina.

“Everybody is getting better now and I believe we can defeat them to at least win bronze."

Ghana were looking to make their second straight final, and ultimately win their fifth continental title in Gabon.

Their dreams were, however, shattered by Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui and Christian Bassogog, who both scored to send Cameroon through to Sunday's final.

Avram Grant's men were losing finalists at Equatorial Guinea 2015.
