Fernando Hidalgo, the agent of Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez, has posted a message aimed squarely at the Rojiblancos hierarchy.
Hidalgo wrote on his Instagram account: "Never ask a liar why he lied. Because to explain it, he would have to lie again."
The dig followed Atletico's refusal to sell Alvarez to Barcelona this summer. Club officials insist the player received no promise from management that he could leave.
According to the Rojiblancos, only one route out exists this summer: paying the release clause written into his contract.
Alvarez has made no secret of his wish to leave the Wanda Metropolitano this summer, a desire he has held since representing Argentina at the 2026 World Cup.
