  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    First start, first goal of the season for U.S. international Weston McKennie as he scored to double Juventus' lead to 2-0 over PSV in their Champions League opener.

    McKennie found himself wide-open in the box and tapped home a close-range in the 27th minute against PSV. It followed an opener from Turkish youngster Kenan Yildiz.

    McKennie earned his first start across all competitions for the Bianconeri on Tuesday, marking just his second appearance under manager Thiago Motta.

    Prior to Tuesday's match, McKennie had played just 23 minutes this season for Juventus -- a cameo off the bench in a 0-0 draw with Roma.

    Juventus return to Serie A action this weekend, with a match against Napoli on the cards. McKennie, meanwhile, will look to earn his first start of the regular season.
