Vinicius Junior told he 'has to be more respectful if he wants to be like Lionel Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo' as ex-Real Madrid star slams Brazilian's 'angry attitude'

Vinicius has carved out a reputation as one of the most electrifying attackers in modern football, with the Brazilian playing a pivotal role in Real Madrid’s triumphs in La Liga and the Champions League last season. His dazzling performances had many touting him as the clear favourite for the 2024 Ballon d'Or, with massive controversy being sparked after the prestigious accolade eventually went to Rodri.

Vinicius has often been seen showing his emotions on the pitch - a trait that has positively impacted on his performances. Sami Khedira, who enjoyed a decorated career with Real Madrid, believes the Brazilian winger possesses unmatched talent but must adopt a more composed and respectful approach to help propel him to the next level and the greatest players ever.

In an interview with Marca, Khedira stated: "Vini changes the games. When Madrid don't know what to do, they give the ball to Vinicius and that's it, he fixes it. But I have to add one thing: his attitude sometimes... he seems angry a lot. Cristiano was a bit like that when he was young, but he changed quickly. If Vinicius wants to be like Messi, Zidane, Cristiano, Xavi, he has to be a bit more respectful with the opponent, with the referees.

"That has to change. But speaking of football he is number one, of course. I'm not a big fan of individual awards, but it seems to me that both of them, Rodri and Vini, were the best this year. If Vini changes a little and is more of a gentleman and more of a leader, he will win three or four Ballon d'Ors."

After receieving treatment for an arm injury, Vinicius is expected to return to Real Madrid’s line-up in their upcoming Champions League clash against Atalanta on Tuesday. His recovery marks a crucial moment for the Spanish giants as they look to capitalise on his explosive abilities after picking up just six points from the first five matches in the group stage, which see them placed in 24th spot in the standings.
