  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The 20-year-old midfielder, who will hope to make the United States men's squad for the upcoming Olympics in Paris alongside teammate Nathan Harriel, collected the ball from around 30 yards out and proceeded to fire it into the top corner. Young talent McGlynn has already been capped at senior level by the USA after shining in the youth teams. He was handed his debut in a 1-0 friendly defeat to Slovenia back in January.

Philadelphia's Major Soccer League season has got off to a mixed start, with Jim Curtin's side sitting eighth in the Eastern Conference with just three wins from their opening 10 matches. The onus will be on the likes of McGlynn to continue performing positively in order to boost the team's chances of making the playoffs - and increase his own chances of making the USA squad for the home World Cup in 2026.
