    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Thompson, who plays as a fullback for the NWSL side, was listed as a forward this camp. The 19-year-old received her first national team call-up in the 2025 SheBelieves Cup, where she and her older sister Alyssa - who also plays for Angel City - became the second pair of sisters to start a USWNT game together.

She was then called into the April training camp following an injury to defender Tierna Davidson.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

The Thompsons recently became the first pair of sisters to combine for an NWSL goal, as Alyssa assisted Gisele's first NWSL goal in a match against the Washington Spirit in early May.

    WHAT NEXT FOR THOMPSON?

The 19-year-old has departed camp and will return to Angel City, where she will continue to recover until she can return to the pitch. The Los Angeles-based club has three matches in June until a four-week break across July into August.

The USWNT takes on China on May 31 and then returns to the pitch on Tuesday, June 3 against Jamaica.
