    For much of the first half, the hosts dominated possession and confidently moved the ball around in the final third, limiting Os Mambas’ attacking opportunities.

    Despite their control and attacking intent, South Africa went into the break with the score still locked at 0-0. 

    The second half followed a similar pattern, though Mozambique began to assert themselves more.

    In the 74th minute, Antonio Sumbane capitalised on an opportunity to slot the ball into an empty net, going 1-0 up and eventually securing all three points for Os Mambas and topping Group A.
