Ripped James McClean in Cristiano Ronaldo-esque shape ahead of another promotion push from Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney and Wrexham in League One

The former Republic of Ireland international, who may yet be drafted back into that fold after earning 103 caps, is now 35 years of age. He has seen a contract extension option taken up in North Wales after helping Wrexham to promotion out of League Two.

They are stepping up into the third tier of English football as a collective, with McClean – who has previously graced the Premier League – well versed in the demands of competition at that level. He intends to hit the ground running following a busy summer.

McClean formed part of a promotion party in Las Vegas before getting down to work back home. He has been hitting the gym and boxing ring hard, with “the pre before pre season” now being completed – with the experienced wing-back looking as shredded as Portuguese superstar Ronaldo.

Wrexham will discover their schedule for 2024-25 when the EFL fixture lists are released on June 26. They are currently in the process of getting more bodies in alongside McClean, with Hollywood co-owners Reynolds and McElhenney making the funds available for more transfer business.
