According to <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68346321" target="_blank">BBC Sport</a>, the deal will now be announced once it is no longer possible for Real Madrid to meet PSG in the Champions League this season. Both teams are still battling it out for European glory. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/real-madrid-player-ratings-vs-rb-leipzig-brahim-diaz-jude-bellingham/blt1f8653ca3336bda6" target="_blank">Los Blancos are 1-0 up at the halfway stage</a> of their last-16 clash with RB Leipzig, while <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/psg-player-ratings-vs-real-sociedad-kylian-mbappe-bradley-barcola/blt4ececce2350c8349" target="_blank">PSG hold a 2-0 lead on Real Sociedad</a> after the first leg of their tie.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Both clubs are in a strong position to qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition, raising the possibility that the official announcement could well be delayed. The draw for the quarter-finals and semi-finals is due to take place on March 15. This year's final will be played at Wembley Stadium on May 24.

Mbappe has scored 21 Ligue 1 goals in just 20 appearances so far this season for PSG. He and Mohamed Bamba (five goals from four appearances) are the only two players in the French top flight with more goals than games this season.
