AmaZulu took control of the match with a well-timed opener from Hendrik Ekstein just before halftime. The midfielder doubled his tally in style, curling home a brilliant solo effort from the edge of the box to put the hosts firmly in command.
In the second half, Stellenbosch responded with a composed finish from Langelihle Phili to reduce the deficit, but it wasn’t enough to derail AmaZulu’s momentum.
The victory sees the KwaZulu-Natal outfit in fifth place on the PSL standings, with 11 points from six matches played.
Polokwane City 2-1 Golden Arrows
Golden Arrows opened the scoring in Polokwane through a thunderous strike from Siyavuya Ndlovu, giving the visitors an early edge in the first half.
However, the momentum shifted in the 63rd minute when Xolani Ngcobo was shown a straight red card, leaving Arrows to battle on with ten men.
Polokwane City capitalised on the numerical advantage, drawing level as Bonginkosi Dlamini pounced on a loose ball in the box and slotted home from close range. The hosts continued to press, sensing an opportunity to snatch all three points.
Their persistence paid off deep into stoppage time when Puleng Tlolane found the net with a dramatic last-minute winner, sealing a hard-fought victory for Rise and Shine.
Richards Bay 1-1 TS Galaxy
Richards Bay took the lead in the 29th minute when Wandile Ngema latched onto a precise pass from Siyabonga Nzama and slotted home with confidence. The visitors responded just before halftime, as Mlungisi Mbunjana found the equaliser to level the score.
Late drama unfolded in the 88th minute when the Natal Rich Boys were awarded a penalty, but Tshepo Mabua’s effort was denied by Ira Tape, who produced a crucial save to keep his side in the game.
With neither team able to find a winner, the match ended 1-1, and the points were shared.
Durban City 2-0 Siwelele
Former Orlando Pirates striker Letsie Koapeng inspired Durban City to a deserved 2-0 win over Siwelele FC on Tuesday night at Chatsworth Stadium.
The forward was making his debut after a controversial exit from Orbit College FC, and he needed 42 minutes to get his first goal for Gavin Hunt's side.
Bokang Mokwena, who assisted the initial strike, got the club's second after 52 minutes to help the Premier Soccer League newbies go fourth, just behind Kaizer Chiefs, with 11 points, two less than Amakhosi.
Siwelele are 13th, having collected four points.
Chippa United 2-1 Orbit College
Chippa United beat Orbit College 2-1 at the Buffalo City Stadium, their first victory this season.
The Chilli Boys opened their scoring in the 36th minute thanks to Xolani Sithole's strike. Justice Figuareido calmed the nerves of the hosts with the second goal in the 82nd minute.
Siyabulela Mabele struck late for the newbies, but time wasn't on their side.
Chippa are now 14th with four points, while Monnapule Saleng's Orbit College are stuck at the bottom with three.
