    WHAT HAPPENED?

Pitso Mosimane, head coach of Esteghlal FC, is embroiled in a dispute with the club over months of unpaid wages.

Despite a challenging start in Tehran, Mosimane has turned the team’s performance around, now on a nine-match unbeaten run.

However, financial instability caused by the previous chairman has left the club struggling to pay him.

His legal team has issued a notice demanding payment within 15 days, as per FIFA laws, or he could terminate his contract.

Mosimane's agent confirmed the allegations of unpaid wages, further highlighting the club's financial struggles.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mosimane has managed to turn things around on the pitch for Esteghlal FC, guiding the team to an impressive nine-match unbeaten run despite a difficult start.

However, the ongoing financial issues at the club, including his unpaid wages, threaten to overshadow his efforts.

With the team currently sitting in 10th position in the league, stability off the pitch is crucial to maintaining their momentum and climbing the table.

The club's management needs to urgently resolve these payment issues to ensure Mosimane's focus remains on continuing the positive results.

Failure to address these problems could derail both the team’s progress and Mosimane’s relationship with the club.

    WHAT NEXT FOR MOSIMANE?

Next up for Mosimane and Esteghlal FC is a crucial match against Shams Azar Qazvin, who are currently 15th in the Iran Pro League.

Despite their lowly position, Mosimane’s side cannot afford to underestimate their opponents as they look to extend their unbeaten run.

A win would be vital in helping Esteghlal climb higher from 10th place and solidify their resurgence in the league.

With Mosimane’s tactical expertise on full display, the team will need to maintain focus amidst ongoing off-field issues.
