While explaining his decision to leave, Nabi said the exit was mutual between him and Chiefs, and he also wants time to rest and attend to a family matter.
"My separation from Kaizer Chiefs was a mutual agreement with the club's management, following a successful and challenging experience," Nabi told WinWin.
"Currently, I need some time to rest, focus more on my family, and monitor my wife's health, which has required me to be by her side over the past period."

The tactician has also revealed he has attracted interest from clubs that are now expected to be his next destination, although he would prefer a break for now.
"Indeed, several major African and Arab clubs have contacted me, but I will not enter into any negotiations at this time, as my priority is to take a temporary break and get some rest," he added.
"It's true. There have been contacts from parties within the Etoile Sportive du Sahel management, and I appreciate this great club and its large fan base, but I don't want to undertake a coaching experience in Tunisia at the moment.
"Etoile Sportive du Sahel is a well-established club, and I respect it greatly, but the timing isn't right for me."
BackpageTime of departure
The Tunisian had just started his second season with Amakhosi before his exit became an intense matter of public speculation.
Although the club itself is yet to make an announcement, Nabi's comments are understood to be enough that, indeed, he has left the Naturena outfit.
Although Chiefs struggled in the PSL in his debut season and finished ninth, he helped the Glamour Boys end their decade-long trophy drought by winning the Nedbank Cup.
When the 2025/26 season began, he was in Tunisia attending to a family matter as Chiefs started the campaign on a positive note.

Unbeaten run ends
The Amakhosi enjoyed a five-match unbeaten run, which ended when they lost against Sekhukhune United, who are themselves unbeaten in six games.
This is set to be the last game Nabi took charge of, as focus now shifts to who will replace him at Chiefs.
