  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Salah moved up to fifth in the list of all-time top scorers in the English top-flight after he scored in Liverpool's title-clinching victory against Tottenham on Sunday. That saw him overtake Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero as the league's most prolific foreign star, but fans have another favourite.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

A survey by bookmaker Coral asked 1,000 fans for their favourite non-British player to appear in the Premier League, and the Anfield superstar has been left in the wake of Cristiano Ronaldo. The former Manchester United star was selected as the best ever import to the Premier League by a whopping 30 per cent of fans, double the tally earned by Salah and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, who both got 15%. Another United favourite, Eric Cantona, was fourth with 11% while ex-Gunners forward Dennis Bergkamp received 8% of the votes. Kevin De Bruyne is the only other active player to make the top 10, with the Manchester City star being picked by 6% of those who answered. Peter Schmeichel, Gianfranco Zola, Patrick Vieira and David Silva made up the remainder of the table.

  • SALAH VS RONALDO

Ronaldo spent over seven years in the Premier League across his two spells at Old Trafford, winning three Premier League titles, two League Cups and the Champions League, among others, before he left for Real Madrid. He left the Premier League with 103 goals from 236 matches. Salah, meanwhile, has now won his second league title, adding to two Carabao Cups and one Champions League title - though he reached the final with the Reds on two more occasions. His goal tally far exceeds Ronaldo's, having netted 185 times so far.

    WHAT NEXT FOR SALAH?

The Egypt international recently signed a contract extension at Anfield and still has time to add further silverware to his belt and overtake Ronaldo in that survey by the time he bows out.
