    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Coach Herdman shed light on the extensive diagnostic process undertaken by the club, revealing that medical experts from Canada, England, and Italy scrutinized MRI scans of Insigne's injury. And after detailed deliberation, all of them concurred that the player would be sidelined for a lengthy period.

  • WHAT HERDMAN SAID

Speaking to reporters, Herdman said: "It's one of those tricky ones, a little bit close to the head of the muscle. When it's at that head, you've got to get a few opinions on it. There's been no stone left unturned."

    WHAT NEXT?

Despite the setback, Insigne's impact on the field has been undeniable, with the Italian striker netting two crucial goals this season, both of them turning out to be match-winners for Toronto. In fact, both goals were recognised as MLS Goal of the Week for their sheer brilliance and artistry.

Insigne's absence casts a shadow over Toronto FC's promising start to the season as they have picked up 10 points from the first five matches. They will return to action against Sporting Kansas City in their upcoming fixture on Saturday.
