Marcus Rashford gives 'green light' to Fenerbahce transfer after phone call with Jose Mourinho as Man Utd braced for surprise offer

According to Fotomac, Rashford gave the 'green light' to join Fenerbahce after talking with Mourinho over the phone. The England international worked under the former Chelsea boss at Old Trafford between 2016 and 2018, with Rashford scoring 28 goals in 125 appearances across all competitions during that time.

Rashford is one of five first-team players at United who are actively seeking transfers away from Old Trafford this summer. The 27-year-old was sent out on loan to Aston Villa in January after falling out with Ruben Amorim and is searching for a new home, with reports suggesting he favours a move to Barcelona. However, United are now braced for a loan offer with an option to buy Rashford outright from Fenerbahce, with talks between the two clubs scheduled for later this week.

Fenerbahce hired Mourinho last year and they finished second behind Galatasaray in the Super Lig title race last season. They have been linked with plenty of high-profile players this summer and have already brought in Sofyan Amrabat permanently and Jhon Duran on loan.

Rashford has returned to United for pre-season despite being given extra time to explore a transfer and is training alone for now. He looks to have no future at Old Trafford, with his No. 10 shirt now in the possession of new signing Matheus Cunha.
