The fans seem to have lost patience with an out-of-from Rashford and expressed their discontent during the team’s Carabao Cup quarter-final defeat against Tottenham by unfurling a banner that read, "Excuses. Ta ra Marcus," signalling their willingness to see the academy product leave the club.

The banner displayed during the Tottenham match has drawn comparisons to another famous moment in United’s history. In 1989, disgruntled fans unveiled a sign aimed at then-manager Sir Alex Ferguson, reading, "Three years of excuses and it’s still crap. Ta ra Fergie." However, Ferguson went on to cement his legacy by leading United to unparalleled success, including 13 league titles and two Champions League trophies before his retirement in 2013.

Unlike Ferguson, Rashford’s future at Old Trafford seems far less secure. Despite being one of the club’s top earners, taking home a reported £325,000 per week on a contract that runs until 2028, the forward has failed to meet expectations.
