    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Erith has joined Manchester United on an interim basis as the performance director until the end of the season. The 46-year-old specialises in player performance and sports science and has previously worked with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, as well as England and Tottenham Hotspur, and most recently New York-based Madison Square Garden Sports.

    Erith will work closely with sporting director Dan Ashworth to establish an elite environment for manager Erik ten Hag and his squad as they attempt to turn around a challenging start to the season. United has only been victorious once in its first three Premier League games, losing to Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion.
