‘Leg was thinking about attacking my mouth’ – Paul Mullin responds to bizarre ‘biting’ incident that ‘didn’t happen’ in Wrexham’s defeat to Birmingham in ‘Hollywood derby’
Paul Mullin has laughed off a bizarre ‘biting’ incident in Wrexham’s defeat at Birmingham that left a rival’s leg “thinking about attacking my mouth”.
Mullin brought his usual blend of passion and energy to proceedings after being introduced in the second half, and was involved in one flashpoint that sparked a mass melee. He tangled with Blues defender Alex Cochrane, leaving both on the turf.
Players from both sides – including James McClean – were booked in the aftermath of the skirmish that unfolded, with Birmingham captain Krystian Bielik later being sent off. Mullin is still searching for his first league goal of the season and will be hoping to get another opportunity to open his account when Wrexham return to action at home to Crawley on Saturday.
