    WHAT HAPPENED?

When they finished 10th in the 2023-24 Premier Soccer League campaign, Kaizer Chiefs made massive changes in the technical team.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi was brought in to help Amakhosi get their elusive silverware.

However, the Soweto giants have so far lost the Carling Knockout, while their chances of winning the Premier Soccer League look slim.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

In the absence of the suspended Nasreddine Nabi, Khalil Ben Youssef will be in charge of the game.

The assistant tactician is aware the Glamour Boys have struggled, in the past, to deal with the so-called minnows.

He has since explained what the technical team has done to avoid a possible upset.

    WHAT BEN YOUSSEF SAID

“To be honest with you this problem is not only with Kaizer Chiefs. It happens always when a team from a lower division plays a team from the first division, they struggle, they have a lot of problems,” he said ahead of the game.

“Like I said it’s mental problems because this team does not have pressure. If they win the game, it means everything to them, if they lose, no one can blame them about they lose the game, because there is a difference between the levels.

“I know, we have a lot of problems when we play against teams from lower division.

"We discuss a lot; we made individual meetings with our players. We discuss a lot with them to prepare themselves.

“They have to prepare themselves mentally for this game. History yes, I know that there were a lot of situations in the last season, it was we lost against a team from a lower division. We tried to do our best to prepare our players mentally to be ready for this game," Ben Youssef concluded.
