    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo has heaped praise on Orlando Pirates' forward Mohau Nkota.

Khumalo analysed Nkota's playstyle and said there is everything positive to talk about the 20-year-old star.

    WHAT KHUMALO SAID

"Listen. This boy, and every ball that he gets, it’s whether he takes a shot or he takes a defender on," Khumalo said, as per KickOff.

"He (Nkota) has never taken the ball backwards; he has never played anything backwards," he added.

"He is always positive. His game is not negative. In every touch that he had, he was creating a final pass, taking on a player, or taking a shot."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Nkota, just like Relebohile Mofokeng, is among the sensational youngsters that Bucs depended on last season.

In his first season in top-flight football, Nkota scored seven goals and provided five assists in 37 games. He played a crucial role as Pirates chased titles, although they reached the semi-final of the Caf Champions League and fell short in their pursuit of the Premier Soccer League title.

Bucs also failed to defend the Nedbank Cup, which Chiefs won, but all these shortcomings cannot overshadow the individual brilliance shown by Nkota.

    WHAT NEXT FOR NKOTA?

The forward is largely expected to remain at Pirates, as he has not been massively linked with a move.

His desire would be to remain a regular starter for the Sea Robbers, just as he was under both Jose Riveiro and Mandla Ncikazi.

Apart from regular starts for Bucs, Nkota hopes that he will be considered for Bafana Bafana competitive duties going forward after appearances in friendlies against Mozambique and Tanzania.
