American businessman John Textor, who also owns Ligue 1 side Lyon and co-owns Crystal Palace and Botafogo, had shown interest in becoming the majority owner of Everton as he placed an offer in the initial round of bidding on June 1. Now The Sun reports that Textor wants award-winning musician Jay-Z to be part of the consortium to take over the Toffees.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The 54-year-old rap star, who is worth $2.5 billion (£1.9b), is now an entrepreneur and could be tempted to invest in the takeover of the Premier League side as Textor looks to buy out Farhad Moshiri's majority. The Guardian earlier reported that the Lyon owner would have to sell his Palace shares to buy the Toffees - but he is understood to be confident his stake with the Eagles is 'sought after'.
