Game over for Erik ten Hag? Man Utd hold talks with former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel – with German telling Sir Jim Ratcliffe what he would do with Jadon Sancho & Mason Mount

The Red Devils are yet to part company with their Dutch coach, after seeing him lead them to FA Cup glory at the end of the 2023-24 campaign. While Ten Hag remains at the helm for now, serious questions continue to be asked of his future.

He may be nudged through the exits at Old Trafford in the not too distant future, with BILD journalist Christian Falk reporting on how United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has met with Tuchel in Monaco – following his decision to walk away from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Tuchel is said to have informed Ratcliffe of his plans for the Red Devils. That discussion also saw the German tactician explain how he would deal with issues such as Mason Mount and Jadon Sancho – pointing to current Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger as an example of how he can improve players.

Tuchel led Chelsea to a memorable Champions League triumph during his time at Stamford Bridge, while also savouring domestic title glory with Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain. He quit his post at the Allianz Arena after failing to lead Harry Kane and Co to major silverware in 2023-24.
