    WHAT HAPPENED?

Former Kaizer Chiefs star Junior Khanye has boldly asserted his opinion regarding the Carling Knockout final match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Magesi FC.

The Dikwena Tsa Meetse have become a significant challenge for every Premier Soccer League team, even though they are newcomers. They defeated Orlando Pirates, TS Galaxy, and Richards Bay to secure a spot in the Knockout final.

On the other hand, the Brazilians smoothly overcame Golden Arrows, Kaizer Chiefs, and Marumo Gallants to advance to the final.

Ahead of the match, Khanye, who is known for his candid opinions, confidently stated that Manqoba Mngqithi's team will dominate against Magesi, boldly predicting that Elvis Chipezeze will let in five goals.

    WHAT KHANYE SAID

“I’m not going to beat around the bush but Papi (Zothwane) and co are going to get a hiding,” Khanye said, per iDiski Times.

“What I have realised is that they (Sundowns) are very serious and I think even Manqoba [Mngqithi] made the same comments about their mindset.

“And Manqoba can even surprise people at the  Champions League this year because they are very direct, they are scoring goals. He is playing with three strikers and (Lucas) Ribeiro who is more or less a striker,'' he added.

“They are very dangerous. Those players I’m talking about Ribeiro, (Peter) Shalulile, and (Iqraam) Rayners can score goals. Sundowns will win the game 5-0, 4-0 and I know Ribeiro will score a hat-trick or a brace. Shalulile is also going to score.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Sundowns have kicked off the season brightly. They have emerged victorious in six out of their first seven league matches and are currently trailing PSL log leaders Orlando Pirates by just three points.

Meanwhile, Magesi secured a victory, drew three matches, and suffered three defeats in the league. Nonetheless, they have maintained an unbeaten streak in their previous eight matches across all competitions.

Nevertheless, the Brazilians are keen to secure their first trophy of the season, having narrowly missed out on the MTN8 title. Magesi are looking to potentially causing an upset against Downs and creating history.
