Ex-Arsenal star Lucas Perez diagnosed with tuberculosis just a month after joining PSV as Spanish winger faces long period out including up to four weeks in isolation

Perez signed for the Dutch side on a short-term contract at the end of February and has only played twice prior to sustaining the infection, according to De Telegraaf. He will now be unavailable for a long time, at least including four weeks of isolation.

Perez has only played 24 minutes for PSV, having joined on a short-term contract after leaving Deportivo La Coruna, and may not get the chance to add to them after sustaining this illness.

Perez featured for Arsenal between 2016 and 2018, playing 21 times and scoring seven goals. He also went onto play for West Ham in the 2018-19 season.

Perez may not be able to feature but PSV remain in the hunt to defend their Eredivisie title, sitting six points behind Ajax with eight matches to play. They host their rivals next in a huge game on Sunday.
