    WHAT CHISLETT SAID

“Joining a new club is never the easiest thing in the world. You have to adapt,” said Chislett as per FARPost.

"But since I joined, everyone has been amazing, and I am so happy here. This is why I love South Africa; everyone smiles.

“I’d like to say I am fitting in really well. It’s a credit to my new teammates and the management staff for welcoming me so warmly. It’s a really exciting time for me, and I am looking to attack these challenges head-on," added the Durban-born player.

“It will probably be surreal. It’s something I’ll look back on. Sometimes when you’re in the moment, you don’t take everything in, but afterwards it will fully sink in

“I came to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup and watched a match in that stadium, so it’s going to be unreal for me, and my family, to play there.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

With Chiefs having signed a player who was plying his trade in Europe, expectations are high on Chislett to prove that he is a quality player.

This comes as Amakhosi have been struggling to bring in players who make a mark in South African football.

But someone like former Bafana Bafana captain Dean Furman, who arrived in the PSL from playing lower league football in England, can give hope to sceptical Chiefs fans that Chislett can become a key player.

    WHAT NEXT FOR CHISLETT?

Amakhosi have so far lost all three pre-season games in the Netherlands, with Chislett being involved.

He hopes to help the Chiefs avoid a losing culture in the upcoming games ahead of the new 2025/26 season.
