    WHAT HAPPENED?

The 18-year-old new Los Blancos star recently gave an interview to Delantero09 where he was asked to pick who he believes is the better player between Bellingham and Neymar, and the youngster opted for his Real Madrid colleague over the Brazil icon. He also named late Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton as one of his main childhood idols, which surprised many.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Former Brazil international Jose Ferreira Neto has now slammed the youngster for the bizarre choices he made while giving the interview. The teenager's preference for Bellingham over Neymar also drew mockery from his Brazil national team seniors like Raphinha and Thiago Silva, who shared laughing emojis on social media.

  • WHAT NETO SAID

Speaking on a show named Os Donos da Bola, former Corinthians and Santos forward Neto said: "Endrick knows nothing about football. How can he compare Bellingham to Neymar? And I must say, I’m not a fan of Neymar, but my kids adore him. Who has been the better player, Bellingham or Neymar? It’s ridiculous. Neymar is far superior.

"Then he tries to be funny, bringing up Bobby Charlton. You probably don’t even know who Bobby Charlton is; you think it’s a brand of cigarettes. Trying to be popular? He’s just a simple player."
