All completed Liverpool transfers so far in 2023-24 - listed

Liverpool have gone on something of a resurgence this season, with a team Jurgen Klopp has labelled "Liverpool 2.0" following a busy summer transfer window, dedicated to their midfield rebuild.

The Reds now find themselves in an incredibly strong position to lift the Premier League crown and Europa League title by the end of the season.

Although the Anfield club might need to bolster again in January as injuries begin to pile up, and the ultra-competitive nature of English top-flight, any potential transfer business is up in the air at the moment after Klopp announced that he will leave Anfield at the end of the season along with most of the backroom staff.

With the winter transfer window almost drawing to a close, GOAL has got you covered with all the completed Liverpool transfers in the ongoing 2023-24 season, below.

The Reds moved swiftly to reinforce the engine room, which required major restoration work over the summer. The Anfield club spent over £95 million on midfield additions Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai from Brighton and RB Leipzig, respectively.

After failing to land top defensive midfield targets Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, Liverpool brought 30-year-old Japanese enforcer Wataru Endo from Stuttgart, while Ryan Gravenberch completed a deadline day move from Bayern Munich in a £34 million (€40m) deal.

The Reds let go of some big names from their squad during the summer window. Stalwarts such as Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were all released on free transfers.

Former Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson also left the club to join Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard at Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ettifaq. Henderson was joined by his midfield partner Fabinho, who completed a summer switch to Al-Ittihad.

  • New signings January window

Despite the midfield additions of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch in the summer, there remain persistent rumours that Liverpool want to bolster that position even further in January or in the summer.

Joel Matip is out for the rest of the season after suffering an ACL injury in early December, while left-back Andy Robertson is also out since undergoing shoulder surgery in October, so a defensive reinforcement is the obvious priority. With full-back Kostas Tsimikas also sidelined with a long-term injury, Liverpool have recalled 21-year-old left-back Owen Beck from a successful loan spell at Dundee. There have been a whole host of loan returnees who have been sent straight back out temporarily to a different clubs.

    Departures January window

With money tight due to a failure to qualify for this season's Champions League last season, Klopp may look to offload some of the deadwood to generate additional funds and relieve the wage bill. Even though his contract expires in June, Matip will stay put with the Reds for the remainder of the season as he continues his injury rehabilitation.

Four first-team players, including former Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara and backup goalkeeper Adrian, are in the final year of their contracts at the club, so they could all find themselves on the chopping block. Attacker Fabio Carvalho has been loaned out to Championship strugglers Hull City following a frustrating half-season at RB Leipzig, while the likes of Nat Phillips, Rhys Williams, and Calvin Ramsay have all secured EFL loan moves.
