Brentford make Premier League history with another lightning start as West Ham suffer same shock as Man City and Tottenham

The Bees have now scored a goal in the opening minute of a match for the third time in a row as they create Premier League history against West Ham by becoming the first side to achieve the feat. Mbeumo broke the deadlock for his side with a brilliant volley from Fabio Carvalho's assist.

Before Saturday's clash, Thomas Frank's side had managed to score first-minute openers against Tottenham and Manchester City in their last two games. However, Brentford eventually lost the clashes 3-1 and 2-1 respectively.

Cameroonian winger Mbeumo has displayed exceptional form in the ongoing season having already scored five goals in six appearances in the Premier League thus far for the Bees.

Unlike their last two matches, Brentford will aim to hold on to their lead to collect important three points from the fixture. They will be next seen in action on October 5 as they face Wolves.
