Barcelona player ratings vs Espanyol: Lamine Yamal wraps up the title! Teen star curls in a beauty and sets up another to crown Hansi Flick's men La Liga champions with victory at Catalan rivals

Barcelona were confirmed as La Liga title winners on Thursday after Lamine Yamal's wonder goal sent them on their way to a 2-0 win at Espanyol.

Hansi Flick's leaders struggled in the main but owe their celebrations to Yamal, who bent in a stunner with his left foot in the 53rd minute to win his side the league on their local rivals' own turf.

Espanyol saw Leandro Cabrera sent off for throwing an elbow into Yamal's stomach late on and their second-half pressure went unrewarded, as Fermin Lopez smashed home a second after a pass from Barca's 17-year-old sensation.

    Goalkeeper & Defence

    Wojciech Szczesny (7/10):

Made a huge first-half save and was quick off his line behind Barcelona's high defence.

    Eric Garcia (6/10):

Kept things ticking over at right-back and defended well in a couple of danger moments.

    Ronald Araujo (5/10):

Looked the most vulnerable of Barca's high line, with Espanyol often getting in behind him in the first half particularly.

    Andreas Christensen (6/10):

Was more accomplished, sweeping up well when Espanyol did get in and made a few decent recovery tackles.

    Gerard Martin (5/10):

Struggled to produce his usual quality in the final third and was subbed at half-time.

    Midfield

    Frenkie de Jong (6/10):

Kept control of the game from the base of midfield and tried to make things happen with forward passes.

    Pedri (5/10):

Not his usual self, despite the odd lovely touch.

    Dani Olmo (5/10):

Also very quiet as Barca struggled to make many inroads in attack.

    Attack

    Lamine Yamal (9/10):

Cut a frustrated figure until the 53rd minute, when he cut in and whipped a special effort into the top corner with his left foot. Another sensational moment for the 17-year-old, who also set up the second.

    Robert Lewandowski (5/10):

Was lively in flashes but squandered a couple of decent chances, including one when a simple pass to Yamal was on.

    Raphinha (5/10):

Rarely involved as Barca struggled to break down a stubborn Espanyol backline.

    Subs & Manager

    Alejandro Balde (6/10):

Made a difference in the second half, providing some pace and thrust with his runs from deep.

    Pau Cubarsi (5/10):

Barca came under a lot of pressure in the middle of the second half but he stood firm.

    Fermin Lopez (7/10):

Secured the victory with a well-taken finish after replacing Lewandowski.

    Hector Fort (5/10):

Did well enough to see out the final moments against 10 men.

    Gavi (5/10):

Helped his side in the closing stages with his relentless running.

    Hansi Flick (7/10):

Used the bench well considering how tired his players looked in the second half. Has done a fine job to lead Barcelona to the title.
