    WHAT HAPPENED?

Bafana Bafana have officially qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco after Congo-Brazzaville’s 3-2 loss to South Sudan.

This result means that Congo can no longer catch up to Bafana, who sit comfortably on eight points with two games remaining.

The news confirms Hugo Broos’s continued tenure as coach, as he previously hinted he would step down if qualification wasn’t secured.

Broos and his boys will clash against Uganda on November 15.

Congo-Brazzaville and South Sudan are both eliminated after their clash. This leaves Uganda and South Africa, who meet in their penultimate Group K clash in Kampala on Friday, guaranteed top-two finishes.

The first two sides in the standings in each of the 12 qualifying groups qualify for the finals in Morocco next year.

Bafana will hope to go further than their third-place finish in the previous edition in the Ivory Coast.
