Kaizer Chiefs forward Ashley Du Preez has revealed how the Premier Soccer League side is planning to compete and win every trophy in the 2025/26 season.
Du Preez said that to make that dream achievable, Chiefs must start competing, especially in the league, by winning the first game.

WHAT DU PREEZ SAID
“For me personally, I couldn’t wait for the league to start, for everyone to start on a clean pitch and write history. But for us as a club, I think we can start competing for the league with the first game," Du Preez told the club's media department.
“The first game is a tough one. We’re playing Stellenbosch, and I think we can compete for everything this year, including the league and cup games. We just have to, from day one, be 100 per cent sure that we can compete and win the league.”

The forward has also praised the pre-season they had, which saw them tour the Netherlands and play five games.
“The pre-season friendlies we played in the Netherlands were amazing, and we learnt a lot from them, and I think we can take that experience to the league. The way we played against the highest-level teams in the Netherlands. It was a good pre-season.
“We as a team look good together. In camp, we have energy, and we have the same mindset in terms of what we want to achieve this season, so we just need to take that pre-season into the league and play every game on the highest level and compete. So I’m really excited for this season, and I’m sure all the players are excited as well."
Kaizer ChiefsTHE BIGGER PICTURE
Amakhosi are the Nedbank Cup defending champions, and one of their primary ambitions is to defend it.
They will also take part in the CAF Confederation Cup, and this is a stage where they need to perform and show the continent that they are still a force to be reckoned with.
Last season, struggles in the PSL saw them finish in the ninth position, something that the Soweto giants will be keen to avoid this time around.
Given that the playing unit has been considerably strengthened, fans expect their club to mount a successful campaign.
Head coach Nasreddine Nabi is also in his second season, and that means he has had enough time to study his squad, sort out the weaknesses, and turn it into a competitive unit.
Kaizer ChiefsWHAT NEXT FOR CHIEFS?
Amakhosi will begin their league campaign with a game against Stellenbosch FC at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Sunday.
Given that they are not taking part in the MTN8 tournament, the players are expected to be full of energy when they tackle Stellies.
