Arsenal close to agreeing new Gabriel Magalhaes contract as Gunners accelerate talks with injured defender

Alongside French defender William Saliba, he has been at the heart of one of the Premier League’s most reliable defensive units until the hamstring problem forced him to sit out. His presence has been crucial during set-pieces as well, and has scored five goals for the Gunners.

With key transfer targets, including Martin Zubimendi, expected to arrive during the upcoming window, locking in the club’s defensive mainstay ahead of time reduces one potential uncertainty.
