Morgan says trophy high does not last long
Always on the hunt for more success
USWNT face Brazil in Gold Cup final
WHAT HAPPENED?
With Morgan aiming to add yet another trophy to her impressive collection, the American striker explained that her drive for success comes in the journey and passion in being part of winning sides. After Morgan had seemed to be heading for an unceremonious exit from the national side, she played her part in helping the USA beat Canada in the semi-final of the Gold Cup to set up the final with Brazil.

WHAT MORGAN SAID
Speaking ahead of the final, Morgan said: "I’m always motivated by winning and I am results-driven but it isn’t without enjoying the journey. As much as I have been able to win major tournaments in the past, that is a high that you only get for a short period of time. You work so hard to be able to attain that over and over again.
"Most people are only able to do that once or twice in their career, I’ve been fortunate enough to be in a good amount of finals on both the winning and losing side. My drive is just my passion for football and always wanting to be on that winning side.”
A statement performance from Morgan in the Gold Cup final would go a long way to ensuring her place in the squad for the Olympics is still a possibility. The striker will want to celebrate another title, even if it will only bring a "high for a short period".
