No show for McDonald Mariga ahead of Harambee Stars trip to Morocco

Former Harambee Stars captain, McDonald Mariga was an unused substitute in Real Oviedo's lose to Tenerife in the Spanish Segunda division match over the weekend.

Mariga has been recalled to Harambee Stars squad that is expected to take on Comoros and the Central Africa Republic in friendly matches between March 23rd and March 27.

Stars will play the build-up matches away in Morocco during the Fifa international week.

Mariga's call-up to the national team left fans and pundits alike divided right in the middle with some quarters supporting the decision by the interim coach, Stanley Okumbi to recall the holding midfielder.

But with Stars expected to arrive in Marrakech, Morocco on March 18, Mariga will be heading for national team assignment without proper match fitness, his last game for Oviedo coming way back on February 17 in a 0-0 draw with Albacete.

Real Oviedo are seventh on the log, 11 points adrift of division two league leaders, Huesca.
