Commentary

That's all for today. Goodbye.
Next up, Bournemouth host Leicester City in the Premier League, with Brentford travelling to Newcastle.
Bournemouth and Brentford settle for a point each after a goalless game at the Vitality Stadium. The away side looked the most likely to score throughout the match, having opportunities either side of half-time. Damsgaard had a low whipped shot palmed away by Neto in the first half, with Ajer and Jansson failing to trouble the goalkeeper with headers. However, their best chance of breaking the deadlock came through Toney, who was quiet for most of the match. Latching onto a flicked pass from Dasilva, the striker could only shoot over the bar from close range. As for O'Neil’s side, they were toothless in attack for the majority of the game but could have had a penalty after 21 minutes. Racing into the box, Zemura went down under the challenge of Ajer who seemed to have missed the ball completely and clattered into the defender. With no penalty given, referee Bramall was sent to the screen to check the tackle, but he decided the Brentford man did nothing wrong and stuck with his original decision.

79' Dasilva feeds Toney the ball on the right side of the box. He then cuts in before having his shot blocked. Still, in possession, the striker is taken down by Christie just outside the area.

48' Ajer and Toney combine, with the striker knocking the ball down the middle of the pitch. However, nobody is there to meet the pass and Neto has possession.
46' The game is back under way.
Bournemouth have been at their most threatening so far when they have looked to retain possession and sustain attacks by slowly moving the ball up the pitch. With Moore and Solanke, they have been eager to launch the ball forward to their tall attackers, but have regularly lost the ball. Instead, they should find Zemura and Tavernier who have carried the ball well. As for Brentford, they must get Toney more involved. Frustrated for most of the first half, the striker has had the fewest touches of all players (15).
The game is goalless at half-time. Brentford have enjoyed the better of the first half, with Damsgaard having their first opportunity. On his first Premier League start, the former Sampdoria man cut into the box from the left before unleashing a curling effort that was pushed away by Neto. Defenders Jansson and Ajer failed to covert headers, with the home side having just one shot in the opening 45 minutes. However, they could have been awarded a penalty. After Zemura was clattered into by a sliding Ajer inside the box, referee Bramall was asked to visit the monitor to analyse the challenge. However, after considering the evidence, he stuck with his original decision and no penalty was given.

33' Lerma looks to play an incisive pass to Tavernier who bursts free down the right, but an outstretched leg by Jensen allows Brentford to retain possession.
