Manchester United supporters very much enjoyed Grimsby Town's downfall as the League Two side crashed out of the Carabao Cup after losing 5-0 against Brentford on Tuesday. Goalkeeper Andre Onana in particular had a nightmare outing and was later loaned out to Turkey.

The League Two side take on Brentford on Tuesday aiming to reach the quarter-finals and coach David Artell believes the Bees will make for much tougher opponents than United, who they knocked out in the second round back in August.

After knocking Manchester United out of the Carabao Cup last month, Grimsby Town have pulled off another major upset to reach the fourth round for the first time in 24 years. The League Two club stunned Championship side Sheffield Wednesday as they clinched their third-round clash 1-0 courtesy of Jaze Kabia's 49th-minute goal.

Manchester United have refused the chance to force their way back into the Carabao Cup, despite evidence that Grimsby Town fielded a player who had registration issues in their second-round tie. The League Two side, who dumped United out in a dramatic penalty shoot-out, were found guilty of breaching EFL rules but escaped with nothing more than a fine.
