Omondi Aduda: Gor Mahia FC have not sold Godfrey Walusimbi to Kaizer Chiefs

Gor Mahia have insisted that they have not transacted any transfer business in regards to Godfrey Walusimbi.

The Ugandan left back is currently in South Africa training with Kaizer Chiefs and could sign a contract if they reach an agreement. However, Gor Mahia CEO Omondi Aduda has reiterated that Walusimbi is contracted to the club and they have not been approached by any team.

“Let me make it very clear to our fans…Walusimbi is still a Gor Mahia player. We have not received any offers to sale the players nor been approached by anyone. Walusimbi is contracted to Gor Mahia for one and half years.

“Kaizer Chiefs have not followed the procedure as laid down in transfer rules. A club intending to conclude with a professional must inform the player’s current club in writing before entering into negotations with him.

“That procedure was not followed and so, whatever is happening now is a clear violation by Kaizer Chiefs,” Aduda told Goal on Monday.

Chiefs are said to have picked on the impressive Walusimbi to help strengthen their leaking defence. Walusimbi has been a key player for Gor Mahia especially this campaign, where K’Ogalo are taking part in the Caf Confederation Cup.
