It was previously reported that Mamelodi Sundowns could potentially lose a few of their key players whose contracts are set to expire at the end of the season.
However, Goal can confirm that Sundowns are in the process of tying down the players and have already brokered a new deal with Hlompho Kekana.
The 31-year-old was reported to have had a number of suitors waiting in the wings, but it has been confirmed that he will remain at Masandawana for the foreseeable future.
“Yes, he signed a new deal last week. I am not sure about the details,” Sundowns’ spokesman Thulani Thuswa told Goal.
When asked about the status of other Sundowns’ players whose contracts are up for renewal such as goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands and Mzikayise Mashaba, Thuswa was confident that they all the players will sign new deals in the near future.

“All the players are expected to sign, but we didn’t have enough time (due to Sundowns’ congested schedule),” Thuswa added.
Thuswa also confirmed Wayne Arendse and Leonardo Castro have both signed new deals with the club.
