Former Kaizer Chiefs star Siphiwe Tshabalala has explained how he can assist Amakhosi while revealing that he is not interested in coaching.The erstwhile BB Erzurumspor star has firmly declined any potential coaching role with Amakhosi, expressing his focus on developing young players instead.Tshabalala, renowned for his footballing prowess, emphasised his dedication to identifying capable players for Chiefs as his commitment stems from a genuine desire to see the club thrive again under competent players.

WHAT HAPPENED?

“I would hit the call, I love Kaizer Chiefs and I have had my best football at Kaizer Chiefs, I was well looked after at Chiefs,” Tshabalala said on Marawa Sports Worldwide."I enjoyed every moment of my 12 years at the club. As for being the coach, it's not my passion to be a coach. However, I do feel that there is a role that I can play that can contribute to the success of the club.“But, I believe that if I were to be a coach, then I have to get the badges. I have to be backed by the paper as well,” he continued."It's something that I intend to do just to get in-depth knowledge and understanding because I work closely on the foundation phase, development and grassroots football. I ran successful tournaments there.“In the last year's edition I took six amateur coaches to get them badges so that they can impart the knowledge at that level, which I feel it's very critical in the foundation phase.''Most of us are the products of grassroots football, so can get badges to help with that level, not as a coach, I would do that for those reasons.”

WHAT TSHABALALA SAID

The Glamour Boys have not been doing well for almost a decade now, despite changing coaches and bringing in new players every season throughout the process.<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/the-trophy-drought-continues-ten-man-milford-fc-eliminate-disappointing-kaizer-chiefs-from-nedbank-cup/blt6ecb4c2c42064cc6" target="_blank">Chiefs last won a major trophy</a> while the former South Africa international was still at the club in 2015, before he left to pursue his career in Turkey in 2018.

THE BIGGER PICTURE 

The former Free State Stars winger hasn't yet retired from professional football, and it remains to be seen whether Amakhosi will consider his wish when he hangs up his boots.Meanwhile, the Soweto giants are searching for a new coach who could probably bring back the glory days, as Cavin Johnson is expected to step aside for the 2024/25 season.
