The Soweto giants’ tactician has broken his silence regarding the controversial comments that suggested he could walk away from the club at the end of last season. After leading the Buccaneers to the Betway Premiership title in May, the Moroccan manager had sparked major concern among the Ghost by hinting that a lack of energy might force him to step down.

The Buccaneers have officially confirmed the signing of Thapelo Mokobodi from the Winelands club. He played 28 times across all competitions last season and joins the Soweto club on a reported three year deal.

The Sea Robbers skipper has laid down a significant marker ahead of the new campaign, insisting that nothing short of total dominance will be acceptable for the Soweto giants. After a historic season that saw the Buccaneers secure three major trophies including an elusive league title, the defender believes the club must now maintain those elite standards to satisfy their massive fan base.
