Manchester City vs Brighton Predictions: EPL Matchweek 13 Odds & Best Bets

Manchester City will look to return to winning ways when they host Brighton Saturday at Etihad Stadium. City suffered its first loss of the season last matchweek when a late Mohamed Salah goal gave Liverpool a 1-0 advantage at Anfield.

Meanwhile, a nil-nil draw to Nottingham Forest ended Brighton’s two-game losing streak and gives the young squad something to build off of heading into this weekend’s match. Brighton dominated possession-wise, and with seven shots on target, you can argue they should have left this match with three additional points on the table.

Man City is now tied with Tottenham for second place on the table with 23 points. Even so, Pep Guardiola’s squad should quickly return to form and continue to pursue Arsenal for that top spot. You can look to back City at home to get an easy three points.

Manchester City vs Brighton odds are current as of Thursday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m., on BetMGM Sportsbook.

Oddsmakers seem to be lower on Man City following their first loss this season. Off the bat, Over 3.5 goals seem very probable given City’s recent dominance. Additionally, with Kyle Walker still out with an injury, Brighton finding the back of the net at least once in this match is not out of the question.

The Seagulls' form against Nottingham Forest should give fans confidence despite the 0-0 scoreline. While City is a different animal, a Both Teams to Score wager is not out of the question in this match.

Manchester City vs Brighton Betting Tips

  • Manchester City has won six of the last seven head-to-head matchups against Brighton dating back to 2019. The lone defeat saw City play with 10 men for over 80 minutes.
  • Brighton has both scored and conceded eight goals in five away games this season.
  • Man City’s 24 goals at home would still be enough to lead the league in Goals For.
  • Despite failing to score against Liverpool, Erling Haaland’s 1.6 goals per 90 min still lead the league.
  • Leandro Trossard leads Brighton with six-goal contributions in 10 matches played.

Manchester City vs Brighton Prediction

Manchester City 3-1 Brighton

Haaland and City should bounce back against Brighton in a big way. While there is no data following a loss for Man City this season, following both draws, Guardiola’s team went on to win their next games, 4-2 and 3-0, in the Premier League, respectively.

With the Word Cup approaching, and Haaland’s Norway not participating, you can expect the 22-year-old striker to continue to play heavy minutes. He should score a brace along with Jack Grealish finding the back of the net early on.

Brighton’s struggles since losing manager Graham Potter to Chelsea will continue here against City. Trossard will find a goal late, but it will be all but meaningless as the match will already be out of reach. Brighton will fail to obtain possession for long periods and will not be able to properly set up attacks against City.

Manchester City vs Brighton Best Bets

➕ Manchester City Over 2.5 Goals (-120) at BetMGM Sportsbook

WAGER: 2 Units

City’s 1-0 loss last week was an anomaly. The Sky Blues had managed to score at least one goal in all EPL matches prior to this game. The league-leading 33-goal effort by Haaland and company should be more than enough evidence to support this bet-hitting.

With no midweek Champions league match for City, the club should enter Saturday’s game rested and ready to redeem the loss they suffered to Liverpool.
